Turtle Rehab Centre, Fitzroy Island

The Turtle Rehab Centre has been doing fabulous work for the turtles of the Great Barrier Reef since 2000. Here at WetRez we think it is important to spread awareness of this worthy cause…

Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre (CTRC) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the rehabilitation of sick and injured turtles. The Great Barrier Reef is home to many species of marine turtles and a number of these are seriously threatened by a range of natural and human induced factors.

The primary role at CTRC is to treat and rehabilitate sick and injured marine turtles. CTRC treat many different species including the Green, Hawksbill, Olive Ridley, Loggerhead and Flatback Turtles. They range from hatchlings to full grow adults. The main problems these turtles suffer from are from boat strikes, Net Entanglement Trauma, Foreign Bodies Ingestion, Buoyancy Problems and Limb Damage/Loss.

CTRC relies on the generous donations from supporters and volunteers, without whom they would be unable to continue this important work. CTRC are always looking for new ways to work with other parties, so that our combined efforts are not only focused but maximised for the overall benefit of sea turtle conservation.

  1. Hi, I admire the good work that you do.
I am inquiring about using the photo images of turtles that you have, I have invented and manufacture an Eco-Crusher recycling Bin, the Eco-Crusher is acquired by schools & community groups to promote & increase recycling rates through educational awareness and fun.
We have 2 designs representing the environment, 1 is frogs for land based ecosystems, 2 is turtles for ocean ecosystems.
As we are QLD based and manufactured I am trying to keep the vinyl wrap design with Australian sea creatures.
If you could email some HR photos that would be great, in return I would be happy to have the CTRC printed on the vinyl wrap, this will give you exposure to schools, universities & community groups. happy to talk via email, thanks John

    • Hi John,

My apologies for the delay in replying to you.

I think it is best that you contact the Turtle Rehab Centre (info@cairnsturtlerehab.org) regarding this request as WetRez unfortunately doesn’t have the authority to say yes or no to publishing their details on your wrap. I do however think that your product & idea sound great & I wish you the best of luck!

      Kind regards
      Kelly
